The Christian And Mr. Levi!!!

Robert F. Turner, Tyler, Texas

"Therefore we must conclude," the Christian preacher was saying, "that Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled all these prophecies, and is the Messiah."

Logical and plausible, thought Reuben Isaac Levi, and raising his hand for attention he asked, "And the Law of Moses — what about that?"

"The Old Law served its purpose as a schoolmaster, to lead us to Christ," the preacher explained; "but the Law of Christ is the perfect and complete law of liberty. You might read Galatians 3:16-f., Rom. 7:1-7, Heb. 9:11-f., and 2 Peter 1:3 for further information."

"Ah yes," said Mr. Levi. "I have read these passages. Now, if I correctly understand you, in the New Covenant of Christ one may find all things that pertain unto life and godliness, and authority for all things Christian." The Christian preacher beamed, "Yes, yes, you are so right, so very right!"

So the Christian preacher sprinkled the babies, because Moses circumcised the eight-day old Hebrew boys — and played hymns on the organ, because David played the harp — and called the place of meeting "the House of God" or "Sanctuary," because Solomon built God a Temple — AND JUST COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY MR. LEVI SLOWLY WALKED AWAY, SHAKING HIS HEAD.
