New Creatures

Three were baptized the first two weeks in December at Lafayette Heights, Indianapolis, Ind., where William B. Murrell preaches.

W. R. Jones, preacher for Pruett and Lobit, Baytown, Texas, reports a baptism, Wednesday, Dec. 18th.

One was baptized Dec. 8th at the Washington Street church, Russellville, Alabama. Eugene Crawley is the preacher.

During the first part of December, Bob West, preacher for the North l.as Vegas church, Las Vegas, Nevada, reports one baptism.

One was baptized in late November at the Miranda Street church, Las Cruces, New Mexico, according to H. Edward McCaskill, the preacher.

Three have been baptized recently at Dallas, Oregon. James W. Rury preaches for this church.

During a recent meeting at El Dorado, Kansas, with Don Willis doing the preaching, one was baptized. Cleo Blue is the preacher at El Dorado.

In recent weeks four have been baptized at Norwalk, California. W, W. Cassio is the local preacher.

Norman E. Fultz, preacher for the Preston Hi-way church, Louisville, Kentucky, reports a baptism, Dec. 15th.

J. A. Woolley, preacher for the church in Clute, Texas, reports a baptism, Dec. 15th.

Debates

Debate to be held in Greggton (Longview, Texas/ February 10-14, 1964.

Mr. Marvin A. Hicks, United Pentecostal preacher of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mr. Bill Cavender, gospel preacher have signed propositions for a religious debate, February 10-14, 1964, Monday through Friday nights. Three nights of the debate will be in the building at 4400 W. Marshall in Longview, and two nights will be in the United Pentecostal building at 1326 Silver Falls Road in Longview.

The propositions are as follows: Proposition 1 — church of Christ building

"The Scriptures teach that there is only one person in the Godhead and that person is Jesus Christ"

Proposition 2 — church of Christ building

"The Scriptures teach that there are three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit."

Proposition 3 — Pentecostal building

"The Scriptures teach that water baptism is in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, which name is Jesus Christ according to Acts 2:38, and that name, Jesus Christ, must be orally pronounced by the administrator, in order for the baptism to be valid."

Proposition 4 — Pentecostal building

"The Scriptures teach that water baptism, for the remission of sins, is into the Father, Son and Holy Spirit without oral reference to Jesus Christ by the administrator."

"The Scriptures teach that Holy Spirit baptism and the Spiritual gifts of I Cor. 12 are for the New Testament church throughout this age."

The sessions will begin at 7:30 each evening and end at 9:30. Each speaker will have two 30 minute speeches each evening.
