W. Earl Mansur, 19551 Welby Way, Reseda, California, Sept. 24: "Floyd Thompson will preach in our meeting October 14-24. Work has started on our classroom addition and things in general are moving forward in a fine way. I will be in Oklahoma for a meeting next year and would like to arrange another one for the same trip. If I can serve you let me hear."

James E. Cooper, Campbellsville, Kentucky, Sept 24: "Earl Fly of Valley Station, Kentucky, preached in a tent meeting here September 3-14. One was baptized, having been a Methodist for 33 years. I preach at Hovious Ridge School House in Adair County, each Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. One was baptized there yesterday. We begin a daily broadcast over WTCO (1450 k.c.), a 250 watt station, on October 1; each day at 12:45 and Sunday at 7:45 a.m."

Lewis J. Karkosky, Jr., 2528 E. Main St., Kalamazoo, Michigan, Sept. 7 "We have recently had six additions at East Main, two former Methodists. On Monday evening we closed a nine-day meeting with John W. Hedge of Jacksonville, Texas, doing the preaching. Attendance and interest was marvelous. I have terminated my labors here and now wish to be contacted for work with another congregation. For further information contact me at the above address immediately."

C. D. Crouch, Baxterville, Mississippi, Sept. 4: "From August 22nd through August 30th I was engaged in a series of meetings with the Smyrna church, near DeQueen, Arkansas. It was just fifty years ago on the fourth Sunday night in August, that I made my first effort to preach a sermon. I stood on the 'same spot' on the fiftieth anniversary of that event, and preached a sermon on the same great theme: 'How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation?' There were two members present for every service of the meeting who heard that first effort of mine. Many changes have taken place in the community. The church is composed almost entirely of different members. The gospel has not changed. The needs of mankind have not changed. Man still needs salvation. The gospel is still God's power to that end. All in all, it was one of the most enjoyable meetings of my life. There were no additions. There was a profound interest upon the part of most of those who attended. 'Some would begin to gather at the place of meeting as much as three quarters of an hour before the announced time to begin the services. Well, if the next 'fifty years' roll by as rapidly as the last 'fifty years' have past, it will not take me long to preach a hundred years!!"

Voyd N. Ballard, P. O. Box 707, Ventura, 'California: "We are living in Ventura, California and I am preaching full time for the church in Saticoy. Saticoy is a small town seven miles east of Ventura. Interest and attendance is very good in our work there. Besides our regular church services we also conduct a weekly radio program over a Ventura station. The program is heard each Sunday morning from 9 to 9:30 over Station KUDU, Ventura. I understand that this is one of the strongest stations in this part of the country. We invite brethren to tune in.

"In addition to our work at Saticoy I have recently preached for the churches at Ojai and Fillmore. I welcomed these opportunities, as it gave me a chance to become better acquainted with the brethren in this area.

"I have been informed that some of the churches in Ventura County said that couldn't preach for them because, 'Ballard doesn't believe in taking care of orphans.' I would like to say that these brethren have been misinformed. I have never in my life opposed the care of the fatherless. I do oppose unscriptural institutions, and I do believe in the ALL-SUFFICIENCY of the church. Furthermore, I have so believed and so preached for the past 20 years. I expect to continue to preach this unless someone can prove it wrong. If preaching the truth on the work of the church closes some pulpits to me, I am sorry, but I cannot compromise God's Word."

John W. Wilson, 1356 Roxbury Drive, San Bernardino, California, Sept. 7: "Please announce a public debate with the Seventh Day Adventist for October 1 to October 4. This debate will be in Needles, California. The principles in this debate will be John W. Wilson, church of Christ, and S. O. Martin, 'Seventh Day Adventist. Mr. Martin is a former member of the R. H. Boll faction. 'He is reputed to be outstanding as a debater among the Adventist people. We look forward to a good debate. The first two nights I will affirm on the First Day, and the last two nights Mr. Martin will affirm on the Seventh Day."

H. F. Sharp, Box 124, Conway, Arkansas, Sept. 8: "It has been a pleasure to preach in meetings at Logansport, Louisiana; Cardwell, Steele and 'Boon Chapel in Missouri; Humphrey, Egypt, Pangburn, Big Flat, Holly Springs, and DeWitt in Arkansas. Before the first of the year Camp, Spring Valley, Marshall and Grandview, all in Arkansas, will be my place of work in meetings. It is good to be home for 10 days before being back on the 'go.' Surely have appreciated the Guardian. Franklin T. Puckett will be with us in a meeting here in 'Conway, Arkansas, beginning the 7th of October."

It. D. Simmons: "Sunday evening, August 10th we closed the meeting at Government Hill in San Antonio, Texas. I began my fifth consecutive meeting the following Monday night at Ingleside, Texas. My next meeting was at Refugio, Texas before returning home to Montebello, California. In my absence from Montebello, Brother Benny 'Bradley of Bellflower has been doing the preaching. He is a fine young man and a good preacher.

"My first summer meeting was with the Windsor Park congregation in Corpus Christi, Texas. Brother Weldon Hagemeier is their preacher. They have a new worship building that will seat about 350, and at this writing they are beginning construction of a class room building that will add eight class rooms to the present number. In this meeting we had 19 responses, five of them baptisms.

"My second meeting was with the South San Antonio, Texas, church. Three confessed faults and six were baptized. Brother Harold V. Trimble is their preacher, but will move within the month to the new work in Woodlawn Hills in San Antonio. The South San Antonio church is a good one. This was my third meeting with them. I will return next year. My daughter, Trisha, was baptized in this meeting.

"My third meeting was with the church at Schertz, Texas, near Randolph Field. This is a new congregation with a new building, and just beginning to do their best work. My brother-in-law, Glenn Gray, is their part time preacher. At present they are making arrangements for a full time preacher. We had two baptisms and two to place membership in this meeting.

"My fourth meeting was with the Government Hill church in San Antonio, Texas. My brother in the flesh, Ernest R. Simmons, is the present part time preacher. They just recently completed a remodeling job on their worship building, and now are finishing a Bible class building that will provide for eight classrooms. This congregation is also planning to employ a full time preacher in the near future. We had six baptisms in this meeting, including my oldest sister's husband and their two oldest boys.

We have enjoyed being associated with so many old friends in the Lord's work. My working with the preachers, elders, and song leaders of the respective congregations has been a real pleasure. Brother Billy Frickes is the preacher with the Ingleside church. Brother Albert Jennings is the preacher with the church at Refugio.

"I am now planning my summer meeting schedule for 1957. If you can use me, write me at 7107 Kengard Avenue, Whittier, California."
