"Ye Shall Know The Truth"

Ervin Driskill, Columbus, Georgia

The above title is a statement from Jesus in John 8:32. Again, in his intercessor prayer, to the Father he said, "...thy word is truth." (John 17:17) The BIBLE is the TRUTH; Jesus said it was. Anything not taught, in the Bible, is not the truth. One of the best ways of teaching people the truth is by contrasting the truth with error. That is what Jesus did. It is not our purpose to stir up strife (and no one but a prejudiced person, with a mean attitude would say we were teaching hatred) but if teaching the truth stirs up strife we certainly will not apologize for anything the truth does. If our Catholic neighbors or any one else thinks we are not teaching the truth, let them boldly come forth and prove it. We intend to teach the truth, as long as our money holds out and the local paper will continue to grant us our American rights, of freedom of press, and all the efforts of those who are afraid for their doctrine to be under the searchlight of truth and who stand on the side and 'holler,' "they are preaching hatred and aiding the Communists" will not deter us for one moment. We have nothing but love for our Catholic neighbors, but we "hate every false way"...Ps. 119:104 whether it be Catholicism or denominationalism. Catholicism is false, to the core, and we stand ready to prove it. Catholic leaders know it will not stand up and that is why they refuse to discuss it. Those who think they refuse because of some "nice reason" just are not informed. It was false doctrine, first published in this paper by Catholics, that brought forth these articles and there are some who would use means of Communism and Catholicism to stop our mouths. If people think Catholics are averse to any such methods then, they don't know what Catholics have done in the past and are doing in many places of the world. I have authentic evidence that Catholics believe in tolerance for Catholics, and that's all. I speak not of Catholics, in general (in general they are fine people) but I speak of the dignitaries of the Catholic Church.

But, let us look at Jesus' attitude toward false doctrine, of his day. He said, "...take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees, then understood they that he bade them...beware of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees." (Matt. 16:5-12) Who were the Pharisees and Sadducees? They were the leading religious sects of His day. Perhaps some weakling then, accused him of stirring up strife, of condemning other people. But he was not condemning the people; it was their false doctrine. That's all we have done. Read Matt. 15:1-14. Here, he called them hypocrites; (we haven't done that) he said their worship was vain because they taught the doctrines of men (Catholics are doing the same and they are not alone in the matter); Jesus said they made void God's word by their TRADITIONS. Catholics are doing the same today and we not only have the American right but we have the example of Jesus, to follow, in condemning (not Catholics) but Catholicism.
