Floyd D. Chappelear - 1101 Dyson - West Columbia, Texas 77486

E. Paul Price, 1001 Franklin St., Borger, Texas 79007: A new church is now meeting in Elkhart, Kansas. This new church stands opposed to the institutional and sponsoring church concept which has swept so many congregations into digression today. Those who would like to make contact with this new congregation may write the following. Jack Williams, Box 398, Elkhart, Kansas 67950. This writer will be conducting a meeting there in the near future.

Philip Morgan, Classificador 1154, Santiago, Chile: We are eager to begin a new congregation in Santiago within the next few months, but we need your help to rent and furnish a place, provide Bibles, songbooks, literature, propaganda, etc. There are 5 in this congregation who preach; so on that score we are able to begin a new work. But the congregation is not able to provide financial help for a new work because of the need of repairs in the present meeting house, which does not even have an entrance, just an old metal curtain that we raise and leave open during services. This building is filling to capacity and beyond with visitors who do not yet support the work financially. With a minimum of $100 monthly we can begin another congregation in this city of 3 million which is a fertile field. Please let me know as soon as possible how much help you can give. You will be told monthly how the money is spent.

Public Debate:

There was to have been a public debate between Dave Bradford and Harry Cobb, Jr. on the class arrangement of Bible teaching April 19, 20,26, and 27, 1968. The debate was to have been held in Birmingham, Alabama.

Support Needed

Ronald A. Glass, 1514 3rd St., Ashland, Wisconsin, 54806: Brother Glass could certainly use some additional support in his work in the far west part of Wisconsin. His present support amounts to a total of $515.00 from which he must support his wife and four children. He also pays his own housing expense from the amount. Certainly some church or individual could help to lighten his load. Write him at the above address.

Cooperative Endeavor:

The small church in Ashland, Wisconsin, has sent their preacher to assist in a gospel meeting at Amberg, Wisconsin. Floyd Chappelear did the preaching and brother Ronald Glass did the song leading. Filling in for brother Glass in his absence were brothers, Frost, Westerlund, and Gengelback. As small as this church is they are still interested in helping what way they can other struggling churches in the area. (The area, incidentally, is about 200 miles away.) Would that more churches would help these many smaller works.

Preacher Needed

The Church of Christ meeting at 720 North Indianapolis Road, Mooresville, Indiana, needs a preacher who can move into the area and work with them regularly. This is a small congregation, and will either need some older man who is receiving Social Security payments, or else someone who can have partial support from other sources. The Mooresville brethren can pay about $75.00 per week. If anyone is interested, will you please either write to the Church of Christ at the above address, or call Area Code 317- 831-2094 or 856-4321.

Progress In Sweetwater, Texas

Edward Fudge, 798 E. N. Tenth in Abilene, Texas 7901: A most inspirational gospel meeting has just ended at the Avenue B church in Sweetwater, Texas, with Jerry Phillips of Baton Rouge, La., doing the preaching. One precious soul was immersed into her Lord's body, but this was by no means the only "visible results."

Jerry preached Friday night on "Unity in Christ." A good representation was present of brethren in the city. One preacher from "each side" of "current issues" publicly stated endorsement of the lesson at its conclusion, and stated desires to work toward closer fellowship among God's children in Sweetwater. None desired compromise of the faith — matters where God has specifically spoken, though all involved are ready (and must be) to compromise on matters of opinion — matters where God has not specifically spoken, to the satisfaction of both and the scruples of all.

Brethren involved learned to love and respect each other during the week, and now count one another as truly "brethren beloved in the Lord." A first step has been taken in Sweetwater. May the same follow throughout the country, and to God be the glory!
