W. E. Fortney, 162 Harrison St., Clarksburg, W. Va., April 3: "The meeting at Sardis, Ohio, continued over two Lord's days with good interest. One precious soul returned to the fold."

W. L. Douthitt, 329 Cummings St., Uvalde, Texas, March 26: "Cecil B. Douthitt did the preaching in a wonderful meeting at Uvalde which closed yesterday. Both Sunday's saw the largest crowds which our building has ever held. Ten were baptized, seven others were restored and placed membership. Of course, one of those Sundays was the pagan holiday, Easter, but a driving rain all day took care of most of the heathenistic wearing of special corsages. Dad will be back in March next year for his third meeting with this congregation. The Guardian gets better every week."

Choice L. Bryant, 165 S. 15th St., Salem, Oregon. April 9: "We baptized two young ladies yesterday; which makes a total of five baptisms since April 1. The Central church in Salem seems to be growing. Last Sunday morning Bible school attendance was 229; the highest in history here—six months ago it was running about 170. At the morning worship service we had approximately 275 present—six months ago it was approximately 195. In the last six months there have been 35 responses-13 of which were baptisms. We broadcast over local radio station KOCO each Sunday morning, 9:00-9:15."

Willis G. Jernigan, 424 West 2nd St., Spur, Texas, April 5: "The best meeting in years for this good church came to a close on last evening. There were fifteen responses to the invitation including eleven baptisms, two restorations, and two to be identified. Brother Fanning Yater Tant of Abilene was the preacher for the series and brother Gerald HaIlford, a senior of Abilene Christian College, directed the song service. Large audiences presented themselves for each service. Brother Tant will return to Spur again in April 1953, if such be the Lord's will."

Frank Trayler, Chaplain (Capt.) USAF, 1406 Clower St., San Antonio, Texas, April 10: "Sunday was a great day at Chapel No. 4, Lackland Air Force Base, when 195 attended Our worship at 2:00 p.m. Brother B. C. Good-pasture, who was in a meeting in San Antonio, gave us a few words of exhortation. A young man from Nashville, Tennessee, was baptized into Christ."

Jesse M. Kelley, 2905 Wingate Ave., Nashville, Tenn.: "There have been five baptisms and four restorations at Grandview Heights the past two months. Am now in the second week of a good meeting at Gray's Point, Tenn., with good crowds despite rain almost every day. Will be away from Nashville a little more than three months this year in meetings in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, and Tennessee. All my time for this year is taken but still have some time in 1952. Our meeting at Grandview Heights with John Iverson doing the preaching begins May 6."

Leslie Diestelkamp, 3413 S. Alabama, Milwaukee, Wis.: "Brother F. B. Shepherd closed a meeting here April 4. Six were baptized. Interest and local membership are at an all-time high here now."

Eugene Britnell, Box 23, Manila, Ark., April 10: "I would like to express my appreciation to brother L. L. Freeman, Lazbuddie, Texas, for his fine article "For the Church of Christ" in the Gospel Guardian April 5, 1951. The only thing wrong was that he could have included several more of our publishing houses and book dealers. Unless one knows the author, it is dangerous to order or recommend many of the books they offer for sale. Do we not have enough men in the church that can print the "truth" for us to study and sell? No, you can not rely on the truthfulness of a thing now just because some of our brethren sell it."

Geo. R. Long, Elizabeth, W. Va., April 5: "I am now located with the church of Christ here in Elizabeth, W. Va., and can say this is one of the finest congregations I ever worked with. This is a great field. We have had three additions since coming here. Our aim is to do a good deal of missionary work round about here. May I commend brother A. H. Porterfield on the lesson on Old Preachers."

Luke Miller, Weslaco, Texas: "Meeting here doing fine. Three for baptism so far. There were 13 in Los Angeles."

Claude A. Guild, 341 Emma St., Fort Worth, Texas, April 6: "Two were baptized and two restored at Riverside last Sunday. We just concluded a gospel meeting at Azle, Texas. We assisted this congregation in its first meeting eighteen months ago. They have built a very nice building, are having around 65 for Bible study, and command respect in the community. There is a good future for this congregation. Wade Banowsky is preaching for them. Brother Cleon Lyles will begin our meeting at Riverside April 30."

John W. Wilson, 1355 Roxbury Drive, San Bernardino, Calif., April 4: "Another debate with the Baptists was conducted March 26-29. Brother Wright Randolph met Mr. C. R. Lyon. The debate was held in the North Long Beach building, in Long Beach Calif. Two subjects were discussed for two nights each. The Establishment of the church was affirmed during the personal ministry of Christ, by Mr. Lyon, and the possibility of apostasy was affirmed by brother Randolph. This was Mr. Lyon's first debate, but he is no novice. He is State Evangelist for the Landmark Baptist in California, and has moderated for several debates held in this section. He is also associate editor for one of their papers published out here. He did about as good a job for the Baptist Cause as any of them do, except his ability in the negative was lacking. Brother Randolph completely took care of his affirmative arguments and presented many good strong negative arguments on. the establishment of the church which were never even referred to by Mr. Lyon. Brother Randolph's affirmative work on the apostasy question was presented well and with force and clarity. Most of his arguments, although clear enough for all to see, Mr. Lyon just complained that he did not understand what was meant by them and passed them by to present his own pre-arranged speeches. These were all exposed by brother Randolph and then he returned to his affirmative work and restated his arguments which stood until the close of the debate unmolested by Mr. Lyon. The house was filled for every service, even on Wednesday evening when some congregations of the church and one or more of the Baptists, dismissed their mid-week service in favor of the debate. Extra chairs were used for some of the sessions. There were from 300 to 400 present for all services of the debate. Comments from brethren from congregations all over were very favorable. There were 30 or more congregations represented during the course of the debate and 20 or 25 gospel preachers. We are grateful to all who helped to make this a good debate and to brother Randolph for a good job done to perfection. Another debate with the Baptists, with Crawford their man, is soon to be held in San Bernardino, with brother Randolph doing the job for the truth. The establishment of the church and total depravity are the subjects. Promise was again made by the Baptists to get D. N. Jackson out here later in the year to meet me. The pleasure of moderating for brother Randolph was mine and I hope it will be in future debates. It is a thrill to hear the truth stand out over error."

Joe Preston, Box 26, Carey, Texas, April 6: "The work here is progressing in a fine way. There have been two baptisms and three returned to their first love since I moved here on February 18, 1951. Brother Thomas McDonald is to be in a meeting here April 8 through 15."

Sgt. Elvis Bozarth, Education Office, Montford Point Area, Camp Lejune, N. Glenn A. Parks, 105 Prospect St., Camden, Ark, April 3: "From March 20 through April 1, I was with the congregation at McLean, Texas, for a meeting. Some twelve years ago I served as the local evangelist for this group. They have made many improvements in their work since that time. It was a real pleasure for me to return for this meeting. Five responded during the meeting; three were baptized. Among the number baptized was Pete Fulbright who had heard the gospel for many years. It as a genuine pleasure to all to see him become a Christian. Brother Thomas Allen Robertson preaches regularly for this congregation and is loved and respected for his good work. He has some time for meetings in 1952. If you need a good man for your meeting feel free to call him. He will render you a real service. Brother George Saunders of McLean directed the singing during the meeting and did a most excellent job. I go next to Haynesville, La., April 8."
