Will Every Person Be Saved

Pryde E. Hinton

Hebrews 2:9 declares that Jesus by the grace of God, tasted death for every man. Since Jesus tasted death for every man, will every man be saved?

The Bible teaches that some people do not believe Jesus Christ as the Son of God: John 8;21-24. Those who do not believe that Jesus is "He" cannot go where He is now. We must believe: Hebrews 11;6; John 3: 16-18 (Please read these Scriptures.).

Hebrews 2:9 teaches that Christ's death was caused by the grace of God. But it takes more than the grace of God to save a man. We are saved by grace; but not by grace only! A car operates on gas, but it will not go far on gas only!

The Bible certainly teaches that we are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8). Hebrews 5:8-10 teaches clearly that Jesus is the author of eternal salvation to all that obey Him. So we are not saved by grace only! If Jesus is the author of salvation to any who do not obey Him, why was Hebrews 5:8-10 written?

Ephesians 2:8-10 declares that we are saved by grace through faith. According to Hebrews 2:9; 2 Corinthians 8:9; and many other passages, grace was shown to mankind by the death of God's Son. But even if we are saved by grace through faith (and we are!), this doesn't mean either grace alone or faith alone. Faith without love is nothing: Galatians 5:6 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.

This is why Jesus commanded that His gospel be preached to all men (Mark 16:15,16). Now read Romans 10:14-17.

The Lord tasted death for every man, He saves us, He redeems us with His blood (Eph. 1:7; Rev. 1: 5, etc.), and the Lord adds us to the church (Acts 2: 41 and 47). But the Lord does not save every body, nor does He give the gift of the Holy Ghost to everybody, nor does He add everybody to the church--does He? Why not? Read all of Acts 2:22-47.
