Aude McKee To Nigeria

Bill Cavender, Longview, Texas

I have recently completed a meeting with the good church in Plainfield, Indiana. This church is a bulwark of truth and righteousness in the Indianapolis area. Brethren Thomas S. Long and Nick Skelton serve as its elders, and brother Aude McKee is the faithful evangelist. The church now has approximately 225 members and is in the midst of a $60,000 expansion program, enlarging their auditorium to seat about 425 people and adding 13 additional classrooms.

Brother Mc Kee, his wife, and four sons, will leave for Lagos, Nigeria, in June of 1961. They will replace the Leslie Diestelkamp family who will be returning to the U. S. in July. The McKees will be working with the Sewell Hall family who are already in Lagos. The McKee's regular support is assured and he is now in the midst of raising funds for their travel over there and back, for all necessary incidentals to the work, and for some means of transportation after he arrives there. All of this will require between eight and nine thousand dollars.

I have known the McKees for over 13 years. Their lives are above reproach and his doctrinal soundness is unquestionable. Few men work as hard and do as good a job in building up a local work as does brother McKee. He stands uncompromisingly for the truth and against present day innovations that are destroying a great portion of the Lord's people. He and his good family are deserving of our support and help in their efforts to reach Nigeria to preach the gospel.

If you are able to help brother McKee in this endeavor, your contributions will be appreciated. They should be sent to him at 341 Southmore St., Plainfield, Indiana. Every contribution will be acknowledged, and every contributor will receive regular reports from brother McKee during his entire period of work in Nigeria. Brother Charles Conway of Plainfield, a retired druggist and farmer, and a faithful Christian, will also keep records of contributions and expenses in this work and audit brother McKee's accounts, so that he may "provide for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord but also in the sight of men." (2 Cor. 8:20-21) The elders of the Plainfield church will vouch for brother McKee's honesty and soundness and they can be contacted by writing to them at Lawndale & Buchanan Sts., Plainfield, Indiana.

May I urge you to help our brother in this endeavor if it is within your ability to do so. He is deserving of our help in every way, and the McKees will do an excellent work in Nigeria.
