W. E. Brightwell

Gilbert Copeland, 1810 Buchanan, Wichita Falls, Texas, March 20: "Ten people placed membership at Floral Heights Congregation yesterday. This makes a total of twenty-nine from all sources since the first of the year. The work here seems to be in the best condition. Harmony prevails and the congregation is pushing to make the program outlined the first of the year a success. We are happy in the work. Our spring meeting will be the first part of June. Gussie Lambert of Shreveport will help us in this meeting."

J. K. Bentley, Box 101, Springtown, Texas, March 20: "I have arranged three meetings for the summer, and can hold one more the 4th Lord's Day in June and 1st in July. Write me as above."

Esten Macon, 226 East Church, Anderson, S. C. March 21: "Will W. Slater, Fort C., Texas, held our singing school, March 7-16, and left the brethren with a greater desire to improve their singing. He preached for us on Sunday, March 12. The brethren in Greenville cooperated in a fine manner. This was Brother Slater's first work in South Carolina, and it gave him a better outlook toward the work. He promised to return in the near future. J. E. Duncan, Union, S. C., will hold our Fall meeting."

Grover Stevens, 1218 Phyllis Ave., Louisville 8, Ky., March 21: "One was baptized at Taylor Blvd. Sunday, bringing our total for the past five Sundays to five baptized, and three placing membership."

Walter W. Leamons, Junction, Texas, March 24: "Cleon Lyles' article, When Thou Art Converted, was exceptionally thought-provoking. The church here is doing more to evangelize at home and abroad than ever before, but it is still not enough. The work is very pleasant. I have accepted the invitation of the brethren to continue here, beginning my 11th year (the 6th of the second stay.)"

***

Thomas Allen Robertson, Box 175, McLean, Texas, March 20: "The work here continues to grow, and interest to increase. Our lectureship-type meeting, which closed last night, resulted in four being baptized. Robert A. Bolton, Grady Cooper, Jesse Lewis, Doyle Williams, Hoyt M. Houchen, Thomas McDonald, Jimmy Jividen, and I preached. I will be in a meeting with the church at South Flats, Okla., April 2 to 12."

***

W. E. Fortney, 162 Harrison St., Clarksburg, W. Va., March 14: "My work at Pine Grove, W. Va., came to a close on March 12. Two more precious souls were baptized, one a Baptist. This little congregation is determined to do more in the future. I will be at St. Joe, Ohio, March 29-April 9."

P. B. Nigh, Kiowa, Kansas, March 15: "The church at Kiowa, Kans., is financially unable to support a full-time preacher. It could, however, partially support a preacher who was also engaged in work in town. Kiowa has no doctor; if anyone knows of a member of the church who is a physician looking for a place to locate, and who could also serve as a preacher, would he please contact P. B. Nigh, Kiowa, Kans."

Malcom Bowen, 821 Heil Ave., El Centro, Calif., March 15: "Three have been baptized, one restored, and seven placed membership at South Eight Street Church. Peace has been restored in this congregation since I moved here. The credit for this belongs to Paul Hutchinson and Roy Edwards, elders of the congregation. The Central Congregation of Los Angeles has faithfully stood by the church here during its days of trouble. They have contributed to the work every month for the last four or five years.

***

Foy E. Wallace, Jr., of Oklahoma City will be here in a meeting, beginning April 9. All in this area are invited to attend. This will be Brother Wallace's second meeting with this congregation.

I hope to hold meetings during the summer months. I have some time not taken. I would like to hold some meetings in Texas and adjoining states. Contact me at the above address."
