Thomas B. Warren, 1857 Belmont, Liberty, Texas: "I preached for the last time in Liberty on January 22 and I began work January 29 with the Washington Heights Congregation in Ft. Worth. I will attend the Seminary while here. So far as I know, they have made no arrangements for another preacher. I feel there is a good opportunity in Liberty. I left only to take advantage of some more schooling on the G. I. bill, while having opportunity to work with the fine group here in Ft. Worth."

There were 77 (previously reported) added to the church during this time, but the year we now enter should be a better year in every way."

R. L. Colley, 716 N. Main St., McAllen, Texas, January 23: "Several weeks past I studied with the brethren at Mission on the subject of eldership. We met and discussed the subject one night a week for four weeks. Since this study, they have appointed two good men to oversee the flock there. There is a new congregation at Rio Grande City, Texas. Their first meeting was Christmas day. Robert L. Colley preached to them, with only eight present. On their fourth Sunday of meeting, there were forty-two in attendance. The church here is sending me there next Sunday to conduct a week of meetings for them. I like your paper, and wish for it wide circulation; it carries truths that all truth lovers need. And I am sure it will do much good. It's peculiar design, and the need of the day, makes it great."

L. W. Mayo, 919 2nd St., Porterville, Calif., February 9: "We are entering our third year with the church here. We think that some good has been done. During the two past years we have baptized seventy, and have had more than forty restored. Within the next few months we shall be in our new church building, which will seat six hundred. Our new building will be as fine a church edifice as our city affords, and as spacious as any of the churches of Christ in the state, with possibly one or two exceptions. The church here has three good men for elders, and seven fine men for deacons. The work is promising. This writer is to conduct a meeting at Nixon, Texas, June 4-11. I have time, for a meeting in the area of San Antonio or some place in South Texas."
