Those Fortunate Brethren

Clement Of Pulestoma

Our brethren in the West-Central section of the state of Texas are among the most fortunate Christians since the establishment of the church. They have a "big-sister" nearby that can see them through just about every trial possible. They don't need to do the worrying about mission work that the Apostle Paul had; they just send a few dollars to their "big-sister," and she takes care of all their mission work for them. They also just send a few dollars to their "big-sister" and she does all their benevolent work for them. In fact, they don't even have to worry about such things as elders, preachers, of even Bible school teachers. Their "big-sister" sends them preachers, teachers, and song-directors, and a monthly bulletin informing them of all the latest teaching methods (of course this is prepared by a specially trained educational director). In fact, it seems that they have really almost nothing to do but send an occasional dollar, and soon, maybe they will get to thinking of all those rich men that "big-sister" seems to be so especially concerned with, and even stop that last and final manifestation of their own independence. It seems that "big-sister" takes care of everything but their radio preaching, and now they have a couple of "big-brothers" who are trying to do all of that for them, and even throw in a little TV in addition. My, aren't our brethren out there fortunate; soon they won't have to do anything but sit by their radio or TV and send in a dollar (won't even have to kneel down), and they'll be saved!
