W. E (Bud) Irvine. 700 W. Lobit, Baytown, Texas, Anril 20: "Brother C. R Nichol closed a meeting with the Murrill and Ashbel Sts. church in Baytown April 20 which resulted in two baptisms, four restorations and two membership This was brother Nichol's second meeting with this congregation in as many years, and his preaching was as forceful as ever. It is always an inspiration to have brother Nichol with us, for his continued vigor in the defense and proclamation of God's word is a source of encouragement to all of us who love the truth. During the month of March there were 37 responses to the invitation, and 16 in the month of April, making a total of 62 since the first of the year. Of these, 18 were baptized, 33 restored and 11 transferred membership. Attendance and interest seem to be increasing in all phases of the work, and we trust the spirituality of the members is also growing stronger."

During this meeting there were thirteen responses. seven to be baptized and six restored. Rollie Rankin is the preacher for this church and is doing a fine job. My next meeting will be in Sunnyvale, California, May 4 through 14."

Frank L. Smith, 10th and Bell, Shawnee, Oklahoma, April 29: "We just closed a good meeting with brother Sterl A. Watson of St. Louis, Mo. Five have been baptized. Our work is steadily improving in attendance and our contributions have reached a record average height. On the 21st, brother Forrest Waldrop's mother, Mrs. Lola Waldrop, died in Shawnee. She left a fine family to bless her life. We were saddened again on the 24th when brother Jack Ewton, one of our elders, passed on. He had done much in encouraging the growth of the church here."

Raymond Whittington, Carthage, Texas, April 29: "The time of our meeting in Carthage is May 5-15. Bob Love of Marshall, Texas, will preach and Charles Nelson of Carthage will direct singing. —O—

Charles A. Holt, Jr., Box 607. Mt. Pleasant, Texas, May 5: "I recently assisted the good church in Greggton, Texas, in a meeting. The attendance and interest were both excellent. My part had to close three days early due to the death of my father. Brother O. J. Swinney. the local preacher, finished the meeting. The church in Greggton is really growing. Brother Swinney is doing a good work there. For four nights this past week I met Mr. Albert Garner, Baptist, in another debate. The debate was conducted in the Calvary Baptist church building in Henderson, Texas. The attendance was very good and we believe that much good was done. We discussed instrumental music for two nights and total depravity and the work of the Spirit for two nights. The debate is to be published. At present I am assisting the church here in Henderson in a meeting. It is off to a good start. Brother Robert Waller is the faithful preacher here."

—O—

Richard Donley. Crystal City, Texas: "We are trying to direct the people of this area to the gospel of Christ as God's power to save. We are advertising in the local paper, and preaching over the local radio station. It is too early to know how effective this will be, but at least it is arousing a better interest within the church. Three have been restored within the past week. One was baptized. The one baptized is a citizen of Mexico. He is here working under contract, but will have to return to Mexico some day. We hope that when it is necessary for him to return he may be strong enough to remain faithful to Christ."

—O—

Cecil L. Derryberry, 302 Madison St., Manchester, Tenn., April 23: "Foy E. Wallace, Jr., will be in a Gospel meeting with the church in Manchester, Tennessee, from May 11-18. I enjoy the Gospel Guardian very much and look forward to it each week. I think you are doing a good work."

—O—

Floyd Embree, 1208 Merchant, Artesia, New Mexico, April 22: "Brother Robert Waller of Henderson, Texas, closed a good meeting of eleven days duration on April 13. There were good crowds throughout this meeting and many visitors from other places. There were three baptisms and one restored as visible results. The preaching was the best, and much good will yet be seen as a result."

—O—

James W. Reynolds, 135 Vernon Place, Pueblo, Colorado, April 29: "The first of March I was with the church in Canon City, Colorado, in a gospel meeting where J. P. Thornton is doing a fine job as local evangelist. Seven were baptized. The first of April I spent six days with the church in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Excellent crowds were present each evening. Six were restored in this meeting. I am hoping that the brethren in Ft. Collins will go forward in the great work of the Lord. Three have been baptized and several restored and identified in our local work here of late. Cleon Lyles and Herbert Godfrey started a meeting here with us last evening, April 28."

—O—

W. Woodrow Allen, Kearney, Nebraska, April 29: "Three additions here in April. Brother Homer Wolfe, who formerly preached at Bristow, Oklahoma, and his wife moved to Grand Island and have identified themselves with us. They must drive sixty miles, but are faithful and will be a great help to us this summer. Another woman from the Christian Church was baptized April 20. She was in doubt about her baptism and was anxious to make everything right. Attendance was the best last Sunday that we have had this year. I have three calls for mission meetings in Nebraska this summer. The harvest is great but the laborers are few."

—O—

J. Ed Uland, Powell, Wyoming, April 30: "We wish to announce that the Church of Christ is now meeting regularly in Cody, Wyoming. Our services begin at 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Lord's day. At present. we are assembled in the Union Hall, 956 Twelfth St., and attendance has been averaging around thirty each Lord's day. We have a radio broadcast over the local station, ROM. at 9:30 a.m., in addition to the national broadcast, Herald of Truth at 12:00 noon. Interest in the work of the Lord seems to be growing in this mission field, and we hope to reach a lot of souls in this western section. Thousands are lost in a maze of sectarianism, worldliness, and indifference. I have recently had the opportunity of exchanging Lord's days with brother Felix Tarbet of Casper, and Brother Leslie Richardson of Thermopolis, and it was a pleasure to meet the good brethren and note the work at both of these congregations. We are sorry that brother Tarbet is leaving the state. We are planning an all-day service in June with brother William Hale of Cheyenne as the speaker. We urgently request that brethren everywhere stop over and see us this summer during vacation time. We solicit the prayers, encouragement, and financial support of brethren, so that we might be able to promote the kingdom of our Lord in this northwestern area. Cody is located in a strategic point, in the eastern entrance to Yellowstone Park, and thousands of tourists come through here every summer. I plan to be in Cody regularly until the church is firmly established with the exception of evangelistic meetings, and singing schools, scheduled in the spring and fall. Pray for our work, brethren, and address all correspondence to the following address: J. Ed Uland, Box 619, Powell Wyoming; or Charles D'Spain, Box 817, Cody, Wyoming."

—O—

Lloyd Moyer, 416 Lewis Ave., San Leandro. California: Just closed a very fine meeting here with brother Raymond C. Kelcy, of Tulsa. Oklahoma doing the preaching. Six baptisms and one restoration. Brethren from twenty-two congregations in this area attended one or more of the services of the meeting."
