Do Alien Sinners "Glorify God" And "Pray" For Saints?

C. D. Plum

Yes, if the liberals' interpretation of II Corinthians 9:12-13 is correct. Now I hear some one say, "Brother Plum you can only "glorify God in the church," and alien sinners are not in the church. (Eph. 3:2). I know it, but it seems my liberal brethren do not know it. Others may say, "Alien sinners do not 'pray' for saints, God has never ordered it." Yes. I know that too, but my liberal brethren do not seem to know it.

In trying to open the church treasury to help both saint and alien sinner liberals are forced to admit that alien sinners both glorify God and pray for the saints. Incredible!

Let us study the scripture that liberals think open the church treasury to sinners. It reads: "For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; while by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto 'THEM,' and unto all 'MEN — . (II Cor. 9:12-13). The liberals say, at least some of them do that, the pronoun "THEM" here refers to saints, and the "UNTO ALL MEN" refers to alien sinners. But this just isn't so. And the following shows it isn't so.

1) 11 Corinthians 9:12 specifically states "this service supplieth the wants of the saints." (not sinners). The Revised Version has it, "this service filleth up the measure of the wants of the saints." (Not sinners). Then in II Corinthians 9:1 Paul says he is writing about "the ministering to the saints." (Not saints and sinners.) And in the preceding chapter, 11 Cor. 8:4. Paul says he is writing about the "fellowship of the ministering to the saints." (Not saints and sinners). Also in I Cor. 16:1, Paul declares it to be "the collection for the saints." (Not saints and sinners). And in I ('or. 16:3 it is specifically stated it is for the "saints in Jerusalem." And, referring to the same event as II Cor. 9:12-13, Paul says in Romans 15:26 that it was for "the poor saints in Jerusalem." Not poOr saints and sinners in Jerusalem. While this is sufficient, let us note further:

2) The last word (men) in II Cor. 9:13 is supplied by the translators. It was not in the original. It is an interpolation. The Revised Version leaves it out. Our liberal brethren know this, but they are in a death struggle for proof, even if they have to pervert. Nothing more needs to be said. but note further.

3) The ones who were being ministered to in II Cor. 9:12-13 were "GLORIFYING GOD." If there were any alien sinners in this group, as our liberal brethren teach, then these alien sinners were "glorifying God." and they were not in the church. Incredible!

4) Then, too, the ones who were being ministered to in II Cor. 9:12-13 were "PRAYING" for those who were helping them. If any alien sinner were in this group, then these alien sinners were praying for the helping saints. So teaches II Cor. 9:14. Again we must say, "Incredible"!

I want my friend and brother on Rush Run, near Hundred, W. Va., who is an expert gardener, and a prize pumpkin raiser (raising them to weigh 125 pounds) to particularly read and meditate on this article. Hello brother Charley.
