Reports

H. Edward McCaskill, 840 N. Miranda St., Las Cruces, New Mexico: "I have just returned from Greenville, Texas, and a meeting with the Southside church. Herman Sargent preaches for this very fine and zealous congregation. Herman was with us here at Miranda St. the first of October and did a fine job in preaching Christ. Although there were no "visible" results in either meeting we are both hopeful and prayerful that each church was properly edified and that the seed sown will have its fruit in time to come. There are three faithful churches here in Las Cruces. Though none are extremely large, membership wise, they are at peace with one another. It is good to realize that for the most part the problems that have existed between brethren here have been absolved for quite some time and there is developing even more a spirit of brotherliness and kindness among them. The Miranda St. church is experiencing possibly the best peace it has known in many years. There is ample evidence of growth. My family and I are enjoying our association with this good church. New Mexico, as is probably known, is not so affluently blessed with many faithful congregations and even fewer preachers. There are about five in the state that I know of at this time. Such cities as Carlsbad, Santa Fe, Artesia, Farmington, and others are without faithful works. One very bright spot is Deming, just 50 miles west of here. Several good families make up the church there. At present they are blessed with two good elders and about the 1st of the year they intend to begin construction of a new meeting house. Robert Welch will be with us in a meeting next May. We invite all who may be passing through Las Cruces to worship with us. Our location is just off U.S. Highways 70-80 West, one block."

Willie C. Adams, 28 Arden Road, Montgomery, Alabama: "The Prattmont church in Prattville, Alabama, met for the first time in June, 1963 in the home of James Owens. This small, but dedicated, group was made up of members from the Prattville, church. After having met for a few times inthe home of brother Owens, the church secured a building on U. S. 31 in Prattville. Due to city development, how- ever, this building was to be demolished. The brethren have now secured and are meeting in a modest building located one and a fourth miles north of the city on U. S. 31. The Prattmont church has conducted two meetings. A. C. Moore and Frank Smith, both of Birmingham, Alabama, have assisted them. Arnold Pledger is preaching for this group. When in this area worship with us."

Maurice W. Jackson, 1500 Stevens Ave. N.E., Huntsville, Alabama: "We have just completed our gospel meeting with James W. Adams. The meeting was well attended, and a good atmosphere prevailed throughout. It was truly a rich and rewarding week for us all. His lessons were of the very finest quality and delivered in a dignified, positive, and effective manner. In addition to the edification of all present, one was baptized into Christ, and one was restored to faithfulness to the Lord. We look forward to having brother Adams back in the spring of 1969."

John Bullock, 600 N. Collier, Grand Saline, Texas: "Since the beginning of our work here about five months ago, two have been baptized, two restored, and eleven ;lave been identified. I assisted the church in Cooper, Texas, in their lectureship. Hayse Reneau of Gladewater, Texas, assisted us in a meeting, Nov. 28-Dec. 4. Brethren, put me on your bulletin list."

Roy L. Foutz, 407 Ave. H, South Houston, Texas 77587: "During 1966, I did the preaching in nine meetings, all in Texas. Six were Monday-Friday services, in which I spoke on "The Bible vs. Evolution." There were in Rosenburg, Madisonville, Dickinson, Southside in Beaumont, West Ave. in San Antonio, and Olsen Park in Amarillo. The three other meetings were at Hogaboom Road in Groves, South Park in Houston, and Oaks-West in Burnet. Our work here in South Houston continues in a very encouraging way. One of our former deacons, Jerry Wilburn, moved to Rockdale, Texas, in August and is preaching for the church there. When in the Houston area, visit with us."

Larry Devore, 217 Ave., Charleston, W.Va. 25302: "This writer, along with three other brethren participated in a gospel effort at Greenview, W. Va. , November 7th through the 17th. Those speaking were Lloyd Barker of Beckley, W.Va., Harold Williamson of Huntington, W.Va., Larry Devore of Charleston, W.Va., and Leon Barker of Danville, W. Va. We found brethren there contending for the old paths."
