"But One Has To Live, Doesn't He?

Pryde Hinton

Often through the years people have said something like the words in quotation marks above. But I've been saying, in reply to this, "Peter, James, Paul and others didn't have to live---they died for their faith." Preachers, teachers, and others are tempted to follow the arguments of the Labor Unions, and many others of this time. But the doctor, preacher, lawyer, or any other servant of the people who serves selfishly, for hire, will inevitably come to be like the "hireling" of which Jesus speaks in John 10: 10-15---please read it!

Brethren have excused themselves — absolved themselves of any wrong doing when they forsake the Bible classes, preaching, and even worship of God, to stay on their jobs. "One must live, and he cannot hold his job unless he works as his employer wants him to." If God means what He says in Matt.6:33, Romans 8:32; Hebrews 13:5,6; 1 Peter 3:13, etc., these excuses for not giving service to God FIRST are just some more lies the father of lies has sneaked into our hearts! As Hiram Hutto said that somebody said, "What comes before FIRST?"
