Statement Of Reconciliation

Whom It May Concern:

It is common knowledge that for the past several years strife and division have characterized the relationship between members of the Dallas Avenue church of Christ and the Pleasant Run church of Christ in Lancaster, Texas.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we announce that on Sunday night, May 12, 1983, as both congregations met and worshipped together, a complete reconciliation was affected between us. Acknowledgments of wrong by both groups were made and accepted, prayers were offered, and sins forgiven as all differences were resolved.

We regret that such a shameful condition existed for so long, but rejoice in the knowledge that, by the grace of God and with the right disposition of heart on the part of all involved, the problems have been completely settled.

Thus, with a complete reconciliation having been affected between us and manifesting love and concern for one another, the members of both congregations resolve to work to the glory of God, the spread of the gospel, and the salvation of souls.
