Adventures In Good Reading

All Books Intended For Review In This Column Should Be Sent To C. R. Nichol. Clifton. Texas.

THE GREAT LIGHT SERMON MEDITATIONS, by Valdis Mezezers, The Christopher Publishing Go., Cloth Bound $2.50: The author in addition to being a preacher, the author of a number of books, and a teacher in literary school, and the author of a number of books, and editor of "THE WAY" a religious paper published in his town Latvia. He with his wife came to America in 1949, and began the study of English. Last year he published his first book in English, "GOD AND MAN."

Those who read "THE GREAT LIGHT" will regret they did not read it earlier in life. It's a book of twenty one sermons.

SERMON SUGGESTIONS or PULPIT POINTS, by Marion H. Conway, Baker Book House, Cloth Bound, $1.75: A book well prepared, cloth bound, in which a text is selected, and suggestions made by the author, leaving the reader to make the SERMON, rather than giving the preacher a ore-digester Sermon. He makes suggestions in the effort to make the preacher a student of the Bible.

This book is one of the series of "The Minister's Handbook Series" published by Baker Handbook Series, at a uniform price, $1.75. To have one of this series is to make you wish the entire Series.

THE ART OF SOUL WINNING, by M. W. Downing, Cloth Binding, $200, Baker Book House: Not only is the author a minister, he is a teacher in The Dean in Canadian Bible Institute, and has much contact with the individual, and much success in leading the student to a religious life. He suggests that it is unwise to send a missionary to the foreign field to convert people who has not first proven himself in the work of personal contact with the unconverted at home.

Following each lesson in the book is a list of questions, designed to show the aptness of a prospective Missionary for the work.

He advises that you should not "take over" the church where you preach. It's a timely book and deserves a wide circulation.
